Update March 2023

Road: all quotes received for repairs to roads and drain covers, surveyed before Christmas, have been reviewed and accepted. Work will commence as soon as the weather improves, ie no more frost or snow.

Bonfires: although there is reference to this in the Pinner Hill Code of Conduct, can we remind residents that under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, builders may not use bonfires to dispose of any rubbish produced and garden refuse cannot be burned if it will cause direct pollution to the environment or people. The Act states that a bonfire could be causing a statutory nuisance if it occurs regularly and prevents someone enjoying their garden or opening windows.

An update from the Committee following issues raised at the 2024 AGM - more details
By Admin July 13, 2023
Update July 2023 Roadworks to repair and maintain the Estate roads, including manhole and gully replacement, speed hump removal and replacement in South View Road and repainting of road markings will commence on 31 st July. At AGM it was explained that there would be works to replace drainage pipes on Pinner Hill. Following the meeting, a resident expressed concern about potential damage to trees and verges by disrupting the water supply. The Committee is now exploring other options. After discussion amongst residents concerning security on the Estate, a number of options have been proposed to enhance security, such as the installation of ANPR cameras at the four entrances to the Estate and also regular security patrols. The Committee, with the help of several residents, are in the process of researching options and obtaining quotations. As soon as we have all the necessary information, we will distribute our findings to every household. After which, we will call an Extraordinary General Meeting to discuss and agree a way forward.

Roads Quotes have been obtained to complete repairs to the Estate roads and renew line marking with thermoplastic paint to all speed humps and junctions. A quote is being obtained to replace the sign at the top end of Park View Road. New manhole covers have been ordered to replace those broken on the Estate. Drains A quote has been approved for gully sucking to clear and unblock all the drains on the Hill and work will commence shortly. New drainage pipes will be installed along Pinner Hill, connecting to the Borough’s mains drain at the bottom of the Hill. These pipes will be installed under driveways without causing damage to existing verge cross-overs. Works will also be undertaken to repair and replace the drain and manhole at the bottom of Hillside Road. Verges/Ditches Gardeners/builders continue to blow leaves and debris into the ditches which causes issues with water drainage. The houses where this regularly occurs will be notified individually and asked to support us in keeping the ditches clear. In addition, the Committee has asked that hedges which belong to residents, should be maintained to ensure they do not encroach the verges. It is not within the Estate gardeners’ remit to cut back hedges belonging to residents. In cases where this is causing a problem, the Committee can arrange for the gardeners to quote to carry out the work, with the cost being met by the resident concerned. Security Research into the installation of ANPR security systems at each of the Estate entrances, continues to be undertaken. Currently, the Committee is talking with power companies to establish the cost of having an energy supply provided to each entrance. Residents will be updated as and when we have an idea of costs and options available. 16.11.22/sf.news.update
